Therese Fisher AG is the principal genealogist in Fisher Associates a firm specializing in heir search services and genealogical work. Therese is an accredited genealogist by the International Commission for the Accreditation of Professional Genealogists, the oldest company in the U.S. offering credentials in genealogy.
Therese works many areas of the United States with special emphasis in the South and Gulf South states (includes 15 states from Maryland through Texas).
From 1999 to the present she has worked part-time under contract with the U.S. Army Casualty and Mortuary Affairs Operations Center handling over 2,000 cases in that time period.
She also works with US Air Force Mortuary Affairs to locate family members of Airmen from the Korean War through the South East Asia Conflict.
Among the many interesting projects Therese worked on was tracing the descendants of a customs official appointed by George Washington to include current, living family members in the City of Norfolk, Virginia.
She located family members of an early 19th century couple who were buried in a cemetery that was on land to be used for a municipal facility in the County of King George, Virginia. She located living descendants of 9 people buried in a family cemetery adjoining a new shopping center site in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The CEO of the shopping center company was so pleased with Therese’s work that he hired her to research his personal genealogy.
Therese has researched several hundred family histories for private, lineage or judicial purposes. She has written or compiled 9 books on genealogical data, including a collection of 200 years of murder cases in the Fredericksburg, Virginia area utilizing court records and newspaper stories.
